Hyderabad, Uber Technologies Inc. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence, expressing interest in expanding Uber services in Hyderabad and investing in Future City. On the other hand, the Chief Minister suggested the company consider opportunities in the parking business within the city.

According to information from the Chief Minister’s Office, Uber’s Chief Business Officer Madhu Kannan, Uber India and South Asia President Parbjeet Singh, Chief Technology Officer Praveen Nippally Naga, and the Chief Minister’s Special Secretary Ajit Reddy were present on the occasion. Dara Khosrowshahi told Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that he would move forward in collaboration with the state government for Uber’s expansion. Uber’s Center of Excellence in Hyderabad is being expanded. He noted that 600 engineers are working at this first center established outside the United States. Uber has shown interest in setting up a corporate office in India’s Future City.

The Chief Minister suggested the Uber CEO consider the possibility of entering the parking business. The Chief Minister brought the parking problem in major cities of the country to the attention of the Uber representatives. He suggested that it would be better to establish multi-level parking centers considering future needs. In response to the Chief Minister’s suggestion, Uber representatives said they would conduct a comprehensive study on the matter. The Chief Minister assured the Uber representatives that the state government would provide all possible cooperation for business expansion.
