Telugu actor Allu Arjun urged the Delhi High Court to direct it to restrain the unauthorized use of his name, voice, and image for commercial exploitation and imitation by several entities. Justice Tushar Rao Gedela heard the petition filed by the ‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun and indicated that the court would pass an interim order in his favor.

Seeking protection of Arjun’s personality rights, the senior counsel representing the actor stated that his personality attributes were being misused for the sale of merchandise bearing his image and signature, the operation of voice-cloning platforms, AI chatbots, and the creation of obscene content.

The counsel said, “There is a ‘Fake Call Pushpa Ka’ app… This is an app where people can talk to an artificially generated artificial face of the actor. This app could become an effective medium to implicate the plaintiff in any kind of scam. That is the concern. The actor’s face is being used in video calls.”

The senior counsel also informed that there are several trademarks registered in Arjun’s name. The counsel for one of the defendant platforms displaying some objectionable content said the products had already been removed. Lawyers appearing for Meta and Google also stated that several objectionable links, including apps, had been taken down.
