Hyderabad, The Deepshikha Women’s Club organized a session on Security, Social Awareness, and Economic Offenses at the Secunderabad Club on Monday. Senior IPS officer Reema Rajeshwari and senior IRS officer Anjala Sahu addressed the members of Deepshikha on various aspects of cyber, social, and financial security, emphasizing that safety is a collective responsibility.
During the discussion moderated by Archana Jaju, Anjala Sahu stated that everyone should be aware and honest about financial responsibilities. Timely tax payments contribute significantly to national development. She advised that individuals should educate themselves on income tax payments, returns, and other financial aspects, dedicating at least five minutes daily to understanding relevant provisions.
Awareness on Cybersecurity and Financial Responsibility
Anjala Sahu added that paying taxes responsibly supports the government. Unfortunately, many still neglect this duty. Sharing her experiences, she mentioned that if she hadn’t joined the IRS, she would have worked in education, as she enjoys explaining concepts to people.
Reema Rajeshwari, responding to questions with Archana Jaju, noted that safety and security have become major concerns in today’s tech-driven era. While technology offers convenience, it also creates vulnerabilities, leaving people unsafe even within their homes. She highlighted that while technology is widely accessible, proper usage is not taught, leading to numerous challenges.
Children are maturing faster than before, making it essential to start safety education at home. People must educate themselves about cybercrimes and technology misuse, as awareness is the only solution. Reema shared her experiences, stating that female police officers face challenges similar to their male counterparts.

On police-citizen relations, she mentioned efforts to transform the traditional image of police in India by making them more sensitive. Both Reema and Anjala stressed the need for public participation in social and national development, stating that the government alone cannot meet expectations—citizens must fulfill their responsibilities.
The president of Deepshikha Women’s Club, Priyanka Baheti, welcomed attendees, emphasizing the necessity of awareness given rising cybercrimes. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from officers like Reema and Anjala and thanked contributors for the successful Deepmela-2025 event.
