Meena, a native of Rajasthan’s Alwar, raped and murdered the daughter of the IRS officer on Wednesday morning. Hours after the incident, he was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka

Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old helper, was hired by the family of an IRS officer in Delhi’s Amar Colony. Eight months later, the family removed him after numerous complaints about his borrowing money and failing to repay the debt.

Thinking it was the end of the story, the family didn’t really give much thought to it. However, over a month later, the sacked helper made a sudden return to the family.

Meena, a native of Rajasthan’s Alwar, raped and murdered the daughter of the IRS officer on Wednesday morning. Hours after the incident, he was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka, where he was hiding.

Rape, Murder, And Robbery

According to the police, the accused fled the scene after the crime, taking approximately Rs 2.5 lakh with him.

The victim’s parents, who were away at the gym, returned home at around 8 A.M. They discovered their daughter lying in a pool of blood, with her clothes torn.

The couple rushed their daughter to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought-dead. Subsequently, they lodged a complaint with the police.

Several teams were formed by the Delhi Police, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras was thoroughly analysed, and Meena was apprehended.

Raped Another Woman In His Native Place

According to the investigators, the accused had raped another woman in his hometown, Alwar, hours before the incident in Delhi. A rape case was registered against him in Alwar.

Meena did not possess a mobile phone of his own. He had stolen a phone during an incident of harassment in Alwar in Rajasthan, and was attempting to evade the police by using that device, they said.

The accused is being charged with rape, murder and robbery.
