Husband Killed Wife: The accused, Sheikh Sohel, allegedly strangled his wife to death at their residence following an argument while he was intoxicated. He then fled the scene.
Bangalore Murder: A man from Kolkata arrived in Bengaluru on Monday and stabbed his wife to death because she was living with a neighbor. He did not stop there and also attacked his innocent son with a knife. However, the child survived. The incident occurred around midnight on Monday in Afzal Layout, Sarayapalya, Northeast Bengaluru. The police have arrested the accused.
Sheikh Sohel from Kolkata and Tabassum Baby got married 14 years ago. They moved to Bengaluru in 2013 and rented a place near KG Halli. Sohel worked as a tailor while Tabassum stayed at home. Their relationship deteriorated as Sohel often came home drunk and picked fights. Tabassum had vowed to return to her parents’ house, but this only worsened the situation. Sohel insisted they both return to Kolkata.
Husband Accuses Wife
Tabassum stayed in Bengaluru with her son Naeem, now two-and-a-half years old. Sheikh Sohel accused her of having an affair with a neighbor named Syed Nadeem and living with him. Her family was aware of this, and her younger sister, Gulshan Begum, had come from Hyderabad to visit. Sohel also learned about Tabassum’s affair. He arrived in Bengaluru on Monday and called her.
Police Arrest the Accused
He claimed he was coming to meet her. Intoxicated, he met her between 11 PM and midnight and was enraged that she was living with another man. He pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the throat. He then attacked his son Naeem, stabbing him in the back. The younger sister, Gulshan, was horrified witnessing the incident. The child was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The police tracked Sohel and arrested him on charges of murder and attempted murder. Tabassum’s body was sent to Ambedkar Hospital for a postmortem.
