10,120 Young Children Urge Parents to Vote Through Drawings
Surat. India is the world’s largest democracy, yet voter turnout in local body elections is often comparatively low due to heat, busy schedules, and lack of awareness. To change this mindset and motivate citizens to vote, the Surat Pre-School Association organized an inspiring and unique campaign.
Under this campaign, 10,120 young children from over 100 schools in Surat city participated. They created beautiful drawings urging their parents and family members to vote. Through their artwork, the children conveyed messages such as “Vote first, then refreshments,” “Voting is our right,” and “Voting is essential for a strong democracy.”
The Association had previously run a similar public awareness campaign during the last election, which earned a place in world records. At that time, the administration and prominent citizens of the city also praised the effort.
A Voting Awareness Record Certificate was presented to the organization by the Collector and the Police Commissioner. The District Education Officer was also given a certificate. Officials praised this innovative initiative, stating that a message delivered through children has a deep impact on society and will help increase voter turnout.
On this occasion, leading members of the Association, along with many other officials and school representatives, were present.
The Association regularly organizes such social, educational, and public welfare programs to guide society in a positive direction. This participation by children for voter awareness is not only inspiring but also conveys that every citizen must exercise their right to vote to secure the country’s future.
