Celebration filled with devotion and enthusiasm through hymns, quiz, and social service commitments

The grand celebration of Maharishi Parashar Jayanti was held with devotion, dedication, and enthusiasm at Sirvi Samaj Wadi on Saturday. The event organized by Parik Vikas Trust, an institution of the Parik community in Surat, was attended by numerous community members who enhanced the dignity of the occasion.

The program commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony. Following this, renowned devotional singer Ramesh Parik from Bikaner presented devotional hymns under the guidance of cultural secretaries, creating a spiritual atmosphere.

An educational quiz competition organized by the General Secretary saw enthusiastic participation from children, women, and men of the community. Meanwhile, Ramavatar Parik highlighted Maharishi Parashar’s personality and contributions, stating that he was the father of agriculture and botany, and agriculture remains the backbone of the Indian economy even today.

On this occasion, appreciation was expressed for the work being done by Parik Vikas Trust in the areas of social service, cow protection, and health preservation. An appeal was made for community members’ cooperation in the medical fund and medical policy. A decision was also made to amend the community’s health policy, where the health secretary and co-treasurer will play important roles.

The environment secretary stated, “We are descendants of the sage who is considered the father of botany, therefore the institution will continue environmental works like tree plantation.”

The event was attended by thousands of community members including principal office bearers, patrons, and various community leaders.

The presence of distinguished personalities from the community and city enhanced the beauty of the ceremony. The program concluded with a delicious meal and sweet offerings in a harmonious atmosphere.

General Secretary

“General Secretary” is not a specific place or cultural site, but a high-ranking political title, most notably used for the leader of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of China. Historically, figures like Joseph Stalin and Mikhail Gorbachev held this title in the USSR, and it represents the most powerful position within the party’s structure. The office and its history are therefore tied to the political headquarters and congress halls where these leaders operated, rather than to a single physical location.
