Organizations Active in Service Work for 30 Years Raise Awareness About Body and Organ Donation in Society, Body Donation of Four Women Becomes Source of Inspiration for Society

In Surat, a positive change is being observed in society due to the efforts of organizations that have been working for years to create public awareness in the fields of eye donation, body donation, blood donation, and organ donation. Inspired by the Lok Drishti Eye Bank and the Red Cross Choryasi Branch, body donations of four women were received in a single day, which is considered an important initiative in the direction of service and humanity.

On this occasion, Dr. Prafullbhai Shiroya explained that body donation is extremely essential for medical college students to gain knowledge of the internal structure of the human body. He said that due to the continuous efforts of social organizations, religious groups, and social workers, people are now becoming aware of eye donation, body donation, and organ donation. Through this, while the visually impaired are receiving new light, medical students are getting the necessary support for their studies. Additionally, continuous blood donation campaigns are being conducted to address blood shortages in thalassemia, sickle cell, and tribal areas.

Late Godavariben Vitthhalbhai Desai (76 years)

The body donation of the late Godavariben, a resident of Mangaldeep Society, Kadodara, Surat, and originally from Rajsthali, Taluka Palitana, Amreli district, was dedicated to the Anatomy Department of Dr. D. N. Desai Medical College and Research Center in Nadiad, inspired by family members and Rekhaben Kakadia. Dr. Jainam Goda was present during this.

Late Seevuben Gabhrubhai Patel (93 years)

The body donation of the late Seevuben, a resident of Radhe Row House in Utrna and originally from Khara, Taluka Lilia, Amreli district, was dedicated to Kiran Medical College in the presence of family members. Mathurbhai Savani, Dr. Mukeshbhai Patel, and Dr. Priyankaben Patel were present on this occasion.

Late Nanuben Zhaverbhai Rajpara (101 years)

The late Nanuben, a resident of Awadh Pulse Berry on Abrama Road and originally from Dasa, Botad district, had pledged body donation during her lifetime. Her body donation was dedicated to Surat Civil Hospital in the presence of her sons Kalubhai Rajpara and Ashokbhai Rajpara. Dr. Bhavnaben Maheshwari was present during this. Additionally, 48 units of blood were collected at the organized blood donation camp and dedicated to the Red Cross Blood Bank.

Late Samjhubhen Chhaganlal Vekaria (82 years)

The body donation of the late Samjhubhen, a resident of Sahaj Park Row House in Varacha and originally from Surajapura, Amreli district, was dedicated to the Anatomy Department of the Medical College. Dr. Gupta and Dr. Manju were present on this occasion.

During the program, Dineshbhai Patel, Dr. Bhavesh Shingala, Dr. Rajkishore Behera, Dr. Harikrishna Shiroya, Dr. Poorvi Malaviya, Dr. Komal Desai, and Dr. Pinkal Mathukia were present from Lok Drishti Eye Bank and Red Cross Blood Bank.

Additionally, Lions Club of Surat East President Kishorbhai Mangrolia, Zone Chairman Jagdish Bodra, and Rotary Club of Surat East President Kirit Vakdi, Secretary Hitesh Vekaria, and former President Kishor Balre paid tribute and saluted the departed souls.
