Karnataka SC/ST Tender: In Karnataka, the reservation quota for Scheduled Castes has been increased from 15 to 17 percent. Simultaneously, the quota for Scheduled Tribes has been increased from 3 to 7 percent. After increasing the reservation quotas, efforts have been made to garner support from the significant SC/ST communities. The tender limit for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe contractors has been raised from 50 lakh rupees to 1 crore rupees. This step was taken just before the implementation of the model code of conduct in the state following the announcement of the assembly election dates.
