Following the attack on Venezuela, an announcement was made to hold a press conference to disclose detailed information at 11:00 AM local time on January 3rd at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, USA.

Prior to the press conference, he revealed notable information to Fox News.

President Trump stated that Maduro was arrested at a heavily guarded fortress, adding that no Americans were killed in this operation.

“He was in a fortress,” President Trump told Fox News in a telephone interview.

“It’s wonderful that no one was killed,” he said, while noting that “a few people were hit, but they have returned and are reported to be in fairly stable condition.”

President Trump recounted that he watched live as US special forces captured the Venezuelan leader in the daring raid, saying the scene looked like “a television show.”

President Trump described how Maduro and his wife were taken by helicopter to a ship. They will be brought to New York, USA, to face federal charges. “They are on a ship but will be taken to New York,” Trump revealed.

The US leader also asserted that he would not allow anyone to “take over what he left behind.”

Previously, President Trump stated that US forces captured Maduro after Washington bombed the capital Caracas and several other cities on the morning of January 3rd, marking the climax of the prolonged months-long confrontation between Trump and Maduro.

The Venezuelan government accused the US of carrying out an “extremely serious military invasion” and called for the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency session.

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said she did not know the whereabouts of Maduro and his wife and demanded that Washington provide “proof of life.”

Russia, an ally, condemned the US attack and demanded an “immediate” clarification on Maduro’s fate. China also “strongly condemned” the US attack on Venezuela.

President Donald Trump confirmed the US launched a military operation against Venezuela, declaring the arrest of Maduro. Caracas has declared a state of emergency.

Mar-a-Lago resort
