Jakarta – The Tourism Bureau of Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation held the « Taiwan Travel Fair » at Central Park Mall Jakarta from August 22 to 24, 2025, showcasing the romantic charm of Taiwan through the currently popular trend of railway tourism.

It was mentioned that the « Haifeng Train » made a grand appearance in the Taiwan Pavilion, where visitors could sit inside the carriages to take photos, as if they were by the beautiful coastline of northern Taiwan.

The Taiwan Pavilion at the fair featured a concept of captivating colorful container stacks, combined with the design of the Taiwan 3.0 tourism brand, and presented three of the latest « Haifeng Train » carriages, which became popular photo spots for Indonesian visitors and sparked lively discussions about contemporary Taiwanese tourism.

In addition, a well-known Indonesian artist, Mikha Tambayong Mahenr, attended to enliven the Taiwan Travel Fair 2025, along with two Indonesian influencers with millions of followers who interacted and shared their unique travel experiences in Taiwan.

The Taiwan Travel Fair held at Central Park Mall Jakarta promoted the theme « Come to Taiwan and Enjoy a Drink » with the new 3.0 tourism brand « Taiwan – Waves of Wonder, » incorporating the popular railway travel trend in Taiwan.

Previously, the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation held a Taiwan Tourism Workshop in Bandung on August 19 and in Jakarta on August 20, 2025. All these efforts were made to continue attracting tourists and cultivating the Indonesian market.

Furthermore, from August 18 to 25, 2025, a Taiwanese tourism delegation visited Bandung and Jakarta to promote new attractions in Taiwanese tourism. A total of 15 institutions, including local government bodies, associations, and tourism industry players, with 43 participants, took part in the activities.

The event introduced Taiwan’s Muslim-friendly environment, the latest tourist destinations, and various promotional programs and attractive offers to boost sales of Taiwanese tourism products. It is hoped that the Indonesian public will choose Taiwan as one of their main travel destinations.

It was mentioned that in 2024, the number of Indonesian tourists visiting Taiwan reached 224,477, and this data indicates sustainable growth and significant development potential in the tourism market.

Taiwan Travel Fair

The Taiwan Travel Fair is an annual tourism exposition that promotes Taiwan’s diverse attractions, culture, and local industries to both domestic and international visitors. It serves as a major platform for the tourism sector, showcasing everything from culinary experiences and historic sites to recreational activities, and has grown in scale and significance alongside Taiwan’s development as a popular travel destination.

Central Park Mall Jakarta

The Central Park Mall in Jakarta is a modern shopping and lifestyle complex that opened in 2009. The mall is a contemporary landmark, known for its large size and the iconic « Gloria » statue in its central park area.

Haifeng Train

« Haifeng Train » refers to the historic railway in Haifeng County, Guangdong, China, which was one of the earliest local railways built in the region during the early 20th century. It played a significant role in the area’s economic development and transportation, particularly during the Republican era. Today, it stands as a symbol of Haifeng’s industrial heritage and modernization efforts in early modern China.

Taiwan – Waves of Wonder

« Waves of Wonder » is a light and sound show at the historic Dadaocheng Wharf in Taipei, Taiwan. The installation celebrates the area’s history as a 19th-century commercial port and trading hub, using modern technology to create an immersive experience over the Tamsui River. It symbolizes the blend of Taiwan’s rich past with its vibrant, innovative present.

Taiwan Tourism Workshop
