The Saudi Water Authority empowers national competencies by launching two initiatives through the Water Academy.

The Saudi Water Authority, through its training arm « Water Academy, » has launched two qualitative initiatives as part of its strategic directions aimed at building and developing national capabilities and empowering local content in the water sector.

The two initiatives include the launch of the « Familiarization in Production Systems and Transportation Networks » program and the transfer of the « Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) program to the Water Academy. » These initiatives reflect the Authority’s approach to qualifying national technical and engineering personnel with the highest levels of competence and empowerment, while enhancing operational sustainability in the water sector.

The « Familiarization » initiative aims to prepare and train engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians to operate and maintain production systems and transportation networks in major water projects. This is achieved through specialized training programs conducted by the Academy in collaboration with the Technical Affairs and Projects Sector, ensuring their operational readiness and improving their technical efficiency in line with best practices and standards. This contributes to meeting the operational needs of new projects, achieving system readiness, and building Saudi cadres capable of operating and managing strategic projects.

Additionally, transferring the HAZOP program to the Water Academy enhances the sector’s operational sustainability by preventing accidents and reducing failures. The program is a systematic and structured method used to identify and assess potential risks and operational deviations in industrial processes.

These two initiatives reflect the Water Academy’s commitment to playing a pivotal role in knowledge transfer and technology localization, reinforcing its strategy as an enabling entity dedicated to preparing, qualifying, and empowering national competencies in accordance with the highest global standards.
