In her speech before the assembly, it was highlighted that Ethiopia has achieved encouraging progress in reducing maternal and child mortality, citing results from a recent national public health survey.

It was affirmed that the government will continue to strengthen its efforts toward universal health coverage by prioritizing primary healthcare and building a robust national health system.

It was noted that Ethiopia will intensify its efforts to improve maternal and child health through effective community engagement and coordination among key stakeholders.

Emphasis was also placed on the importance of supporting and motivating health sector workers, while expanding efforts to prevent and control communicable and non-communicable diseases.

It was added that the government is committed to improving access to high-quality health services by leveraging modern technology and enhancing healthcare delivery across the country.

Ethiopia’s commitment to working closely with the World Health Organization, the African Union, partner countries, and local and international organizations to achieve health-related sustainable development goals was reaffirmed.
