Ethiopia
Ethiopia is a historically rich nation in the Horn of Africa, widely considered one of the oldest sites of human existence and home to the ancient Aksumite Kingdom. It is unique as one of the few African countries to avoid long-term colonization, preserving its ancient Christian traditions and architectural wonders like the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela. Its diverse cultural heritage is also shaped by numerous ethnic groups and its role as a founding member of global organizations like the United Nations.
Portugal
Portugal is a country in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula, with a rich history as a global maritime power during the Age of Discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries. Its cultural identity is deeply shaped by this era of exploration, visible in historic sites like the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon and the wine-producing region of the Douro Valley. Today, it is known for its distinctive architecture, traditional *fado* music, and as a popular tourist destination.
