The central children’s hospital has just updated the information about the health status and treatment costs for a girl from Lào Cai – a case that has caused public uproar recently after her family reported being charged nearly 5 million VND for a 22km journey after leaving the hospital to return to Lào Cai.
According to the hospital, the girl was admitted on May 13 in a state of fatigue, shortness of breath, muscle weakness, and difficulty walking. After consultation by the doctors, she underwent three plasma filtration sessions and one major surgery.
She is now breathing on her own, continuing to receive intensive care with immunosuppressive drugs and internal medicine treatment
