The City Government of Surabaya emphasizes a new policy that must be observed by all. According to the Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 3 of 2018, now every establishment from modern stores, minimarkets, restaurants to hotels is required to provide complete parking facilities with an official parking attendant.
The regulation targets not only minimarkets or supermarkets but also extends to restaurants and eateries. The goal? To ensure more orderly parking management while also contributing to the local government’s revenue.
“The same rules apply to restaurants as to modern stores. They must have a parking area, and 10 percent of the parking revenue goes to the city treasury,” stated the Mayor of Surabaya after a plenary meeting at the Surabaya City Council building on Monday (16/6/2025).
