Starting today, China is piloting a visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay, with China’s single-sided visa-free “Circle of Friends” gaining new members.
From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, holders of ordinary passports from the aforementioned five countries visiting China for business, tourism, family visits, exchange visits, and transits not exceeding 30 days can enter without a visa.
This marks the first extension of China’s visa-free policy into countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region. To date, this single-sided visa-free policy applicable to those visiting China has expanded to 43 countries.
