Today… Petrojet and Zamalek Replay the Sixth Round Basketball League Match
The match replay came after the Egyptian Basketball Federation’s decision to accept Petrojet club’s appeal regarding the previous cancellation of the match and its award to Zamalek with a score of 20-0, due to the late arrival of the ambulance.
Petrojet’s management confirmed that the delay was beyond the club’s control due to road congestion during Coptic celebrations, and that the vehicle arrived after the legal period of 30 minutes.
Eight teams participate in the league’s preliminary stage: Al Ahly, Al Ittihad Alexandria, Zamalek, Sporting, Al Gezira, Telecom Egypt, Petrojet, and Smouha. The competitions are held in a double round-robin league system. The winner of each match gets two points, while the loser gets one point, to determine the teams’ ranking from first to eighth and the quarter-final matchups.
