The enforcement against illegal buildings and street vendors by Satpol PP Depok has once again drawn attention.

This action targeted structures built on the Right of Way (ROW) land of PT Pertamina Gas’s pipeline.

The demolition took place along Jalan Ir. H. Juanda on Monday, 21 July 2025. During the operation, a total of 79 illegal structures were cleared by joint officers.

This operation represents a firm step in enforcing public order regulations in Depok City.

„The demolition started at 08:00 and lasted until 16:00 local time. We divided the team into two points: from Jalan Pelni to Situ Pangarengan and from Situ Pangarengan to Pasar Kambing,“ stated the Head of Satpol PP Depok City, Dede Hidayat.

This enforcement is based on Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2022 concerning Public Peace, Order, and Community Protection.

The operation did not conclude in a single day. According to Dede, enforcement will continue until Wednesday (23/07).

He added that 265 joint personnel were deployed for the operation, including members from Satpol PP, the National Police, the Military, Subdenpom, Subarnisun, as well as district and village officials.

To expedite the demolition process, two excavators were also deployed to the site.

„This enforcement was preceded by an administrative process, including three warning letters, culminating in the issuance of a demolition notice,“ said Dede.

This means the government provided sufficient stages and time for violators to respond to the warnings.

Dede emphasized that the demolition was not merely punitive.

„This demolition is not just about enforcement but also part of efforts to create a comfortable public order in Depok City. Thankfully, the operation proceeded safely and smoothly,“ he concluded.
