Nine government departments have jointly issued the “Guidance on Promoting High-Quality Development in the Accommodation Industry,” which was publicly released on October 17.

The accommodation industry is an important component of the service sector and a key area of service consumption. China’s accommodation industry faces certain challenges and shortcomings, such as insufficient development of independent brands, prominent homogeneous competition, and relatively low levels of green development. There is an urgent need for coordinated efforts among departments to support and guide the high-quality development of the accommodation industry.

The guidance proposes 17 specific policies across six areas: cultivating business entities, expanding quality supply, accelerating green development, optimizing the development environment, strengthening resource support, and consolidating the foundation. These measures aim to enhance brand building in the accommodation industry, promote innovation in business formats and scenarios, drive digital transformation and green development, improve international reception capabilities, standardize market order, strengthen support in areas such as land and talent, enhance safety production management, and ultimately achieve high-quality development in the accommodation industry.

The next step involves actively promoting the implementation of policy measures to better leverage the accommodation industry’s important role in stimulating consumption, benefiting people’s livelihoods, and stabilizing employment, while also helping to expand service consumption and contribute to building a new development pattern.
