On behalf of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, a government work report was delivered to the congress. It stated that over the past year, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, efforts were made to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its plenary sessions, thoroughly act on the important speech made during an inspection of Shanghai, resolutely carry out the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and under the strong leadership of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, focus on promoting high-quality development, accelerate the construction of the “five centers,” and coordinate efforts to stabilize growth, promote transformation, improve people’s livelihoods, and prevent risks, thus completing the goals and tasks set by the third session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress.
The fourth session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress successfully completed all its agenda items and concluded at the Shanghai Expo Center yesterday morning. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee. The executive chairpersons of the closing ceremony included Chen Jining, Zhu Zhongming, Huang Lixin, Zheng Gangmiao, Zhou Huilin, Zong Ming, Chen Jing, Zhang Quan, Xu Yisong, Wang Hongwei, Lian Zhenghua, Zhang Peirong, Zhao Ruqing, Cheng Wei, and Xue Hong.
The fourth session of the 14th Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference successfully completed all its agenda items and concluded at the Expo Center on the afternoon of February 5. The closing meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Vice Chairpersons Xiao Guiyu, Chen Qun, Huang Zhen, Yu Lijuan, Wu Xinbao, Shou Ziqi, Qian Feng, Wang Weiren, and members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were seated on the rostrum. The Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, the Mayor, the Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, and the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee were invited to attend.
