On the afternoon of April 15, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan warmly bid farewell to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, who were on a state visit to China.

Xi Jinping said, “Today, I had a long and in-depth exchange with General Secretary and President To Lam on overarching and strategic issues of mutual concern, reaching many new important consensuses. I strongly feel that China and Vietnam are both socialist countries. We must continue to move forward firmly along the path determined by this direction and be a community with a shared future in the socialist cause. We are good neighbors sharing weal and woe, jointly moving towards modernization, and should be a community with a shared future in achieving modernization. We both advocate for a world of great harmony and, amidst the once-in-a-century global changes, should be partners in promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Tomorrow you will leave to visit Guangxi, further deepening your understanding of China. We are willing to work with the Vietnamese side to guide the construction of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future onto a fast track of high-speed development.”

To Lam thanked General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and the Chinese side for the comradely and brotherly warm reception given to the high-level Vietnamese delegation. To Lam stated that the Chinese side made a series of special arrangements, demonstrating special friendly feelings towards the Vietnamese side, which deeply moved the Vietnamese side. Currently, Vietnam-China relations are at their best period in history. This visit has reached many important consensuses and signed many cooperation agreements, achieving complete success so far. This time, we also witnessed the implementation and significant achievements of a series of major theories proposed by Comrade General Secretary Xi Jinping. Vietnam is willing to work with China to fully implement and translate the important consensuses reached during this visit into new momentum for friendly cooperation between the two sides, promoting greater development for both countries and taking new steps towards building a higher-level strategic community with a shared future.
