Attended and Declared the Opening
On September 13, the 2025 Golden Panda International Culture Forum was held in Chengdu. A member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department attended and declared the forum open.
Chinese and foreign guests agreed that diverse civilizations represent the true nature of the world. Exchanges and mutual learning are essential requirements for the development of civilizations, as well as an important driving force for the progress of human civilization and the peaceful development of the world. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the Ministerial Conference on Global Civilizational Dialogue, emphasizing the importance of upholding the values of equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness among civilizations, implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, and promoting the establishment of a global network for civilizational dialogue and cooperation. These efforts are of great significance in fostering mutual understanding and affinity among peoples of different countries, as well as promoting harmony and coexistence among diverse civilizations. At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin, President Xi Jinping solemnly proposed the Global Governance Initiative, further contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to addressing the world’s pressing challenges and jointly building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Chinese and foreign guests expressed that addressing common challenges and moving toward a better future cannot be achieved without the power of culture and civilization. It is essential to uphold and promote the common values of humanity, establish mechanisms for implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, and facilitate the inclusive coexistence and mutual enrichment of different civilizations through equal treatment and mutual learning. Deepening international people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation in areas such as education, science and technology, culture, and media will better promote cultural integration and mutual understanding among peoples of various countries.
The 2025 Golden Panda International Culture Forum was organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. It is one of the main events of the second Golden Panda Awards. This year’s theme was “Civilizations Gather Together to Create the Future.” More than 780 guests from China and abroad attended the forum, engaging in in-depth exchanges on topics such as “Digital and Intelligent Empowerment.”
