Indonesia and China have reached agreements on 16 new investment projects, with a total investment value of $2.19 billion (approximately IDR 36.4 trillion). These projects span multiple sectors, ranging from basic metals and seafood processing to advanced technologies such as drones, batteries, and artificial intelligence.
These projects are part of efforts to deepen bilateral industrial cooperation between Indonesia and China under the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” (TCTP) framework.
“These projects cover a range of strategic fields, including basic metals, meat and seafood processing, textiles, tea, furniture, drones, batteries, and artificial intelligence,” a statement said.
Given the market size and industrial strength of both nations, the partnership holds significant economic potential.
“This is indeed an important milestone, demonstrating the open and broad cooperation between the two countries. It is a vast market that provides opportunities for businesses and for both nations,” the statement added.
The 16 projects were initiated under a Memorandum of Understanding within the TCTP framework and were formally signed.
The TCTP aims to promote downstream industry development, facilitate cross-border investment, and integrate the supply chains of Indonesia and China, particularly in the manufacturing and resource-based industries.
Looking ahead, Indonesia expressed willingness to engage in deeper cooperation in higher value-added fields.
“Indonesia welcomes broader cooperation in infrastructure, logistics, downstream industries, manufacturing, renewable energy, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, food security, healthcare, and human capital development,” the statement concluded.
Two Countries, Twin Parks
“Two Countries, Twin Parks” refers to the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, created in 1932 by uniting Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada and Glacier National Park in the United States. It was the world’s first International Peace Park, established to symbolize peace and cooperation between the two nations and to collaboratively protect the shared alpine ecosystem of the Rocky Mountains.

Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park
Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park is the world’s first international peace park, formed in 1932 by uniting Canada’s Waterton Lakes National Park (est. 1895) and the United States’ Glacier National Park (est. 1910). It symbolizes peace and cooperation between the two nations and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic Rocky Mountain landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and rich geological history.
Waterton Lakes National Park
Waterton Lakes National Park, located in southwestern Alberta, Canada, was established in 1895 and is the country’s fourth national park. It is renowned for its dramatic mountain landscapes, which meet the prairies, and its unique union with Glacier National Park in the USA, forming the world’s first International Peace Park in 1932. The area holds deep significance for the Blackfoot Confederacy, who have inhabited the region for thousands of years.
Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park, located in Montana’s Rocky Mountains, was established as a national park in 1910 to preserve its stunning alpine scenery and glaciers. Historically shaped by massive ice sheets, the park is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, over 700 lakes, and historic “Going-to-the-Sun” Road, though its namesake glaciers have significantly receded due to climate change.
