On September 4, President Xi Jinping met with Serbian President Vučić, who was in China to attend the commemorative activities marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Great Hall of the People
The Great Hall of the People is a state building located on the western edge of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It was constructed in 1959 as one of the “Ten Great Buildings” to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. It serves as the meeting place for the National People’s Congress and hosts major political and diplomatic events.
