15th Five-Year Plan

The “15th Five-Year Plan” is not a physical place or cultural site, but a strategic national development blueprint for the People’s Republic of China. It refers to the economic and social guidelines set for the years 2026 to 2030, continuing a series of such plans that began in 1953 to guide the country’s modernization and growth. Its history is part of China’s long-term planning system, which aims to set key targets and policies for major sectors like technology, green energy, and industrial advancement.

National Two Sessions

The “National Two Sessions” refers to the annual meetings of China’s two main political bodies: the National People’s Congress (NPC), the highest state legislative body, and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a key political advisory body. These sessions, held each March in Beijing, originated in the 1950s following the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and serve as a platform for setting national policies, reviewing government work, and passing laws. They are a central event in China’s political calendar, reflecting the country’s governance system and policy direction for the year ahead.
