On June 4, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he and U.S. President Donald Trump “sometimes have tactical disagreements.”
Netanyahu said he speaks with Trump every two days, and they often discuss the situation in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Regarding the war in Iran, Netanyahu noted that how the conflict ultimately ends “remains an open question.”
Earlier reports indicated that Trump used profanity during a phone call with Netanyahu on June 1, accusing him of jeopardizing peace talks with Iran.
Analysts point out that Trump has been claiming for months that a deal to end the Middle East conflict is imminent, but Israel insists on pursuing its own goals. The two countries’ views on how to end the war are fundamentally opposed, and this disagreement is threatening U.S.-Iran negotiations.
