On April 20, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, arrived in Beijing to continue his visit to China. Earlier, Chapo had visited Hunan Province and Qinghai Province.
At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, Chapo is on a state visit to China from April 16 to 22. This is Chapo’s first visit to China since taking office as president. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony and a welcome banquet for Chapo, and the two heads of state will hold talks. Premier Li Qiang and Chairman Zhao Leji will meet with Chapo separately.
A foreign ministry spokesperson recently stated that the friendship between China and Mozambique has a long history. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, the friendly ties between the two countries have withstood the test of international changes and have grown stronger over time. Currently, political mutual trust between the two countries continues to deepen, cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, and there is close cooperation on international and regional issues. It is believed that this visit will promote the in-depth development of the China-Mozambique comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and contribute to building a new era of all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future and promoting unity and cooperation among the Global South.
