On June 3, during the 2026 VNL Nanjing leg, China lost their opening match 0-3 (20-25, 20-25, 24-26) to the Czech Republic. In the second match, China faced Thailand, a key rival in the Asian Championships.

China’s blocking was strong in that match. Although they squandered leads in both the second and fourth sets, they leveraged their net play and serving advantage in the decisive fifth set to win 3-2 (25-14, 24-26, 25-19, 23-25, 15-7), securing their first win of this VNL season.
