On June 5, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping held talks in Beijing with General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President Thongloun Sisoulith, who was on a state visit to China. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that China always regards Laos as an important direction in its peripheral diplomacy and is willing to work with Laos to jointly build a new era all-weather China-Laos community with a shared future.
Based on the advantages of the China-Laos Railway as a golden thoroughfare, promote development along the line and the “one place, two inspections” model, push for the upgrading of cooperation in the China-Laos economic corridor, accelerate the connectivity of the China-Laos-Thailand railway, and expand cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy… The blueprint for cooperation jointly drawn by the two heads of state allows the traditional friendship of “comrades and brothers” to achieve a new leap in the new era.
