On September 19, the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises list was released. The list shows that the threshold for entry into the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises was an operating revenue of 2.59 billion yuan, an increase of 229 million yuan compared to the previous year.

Under a unified national deployment, an extensive survey of large-scale private enterprises was organized, with 3,163 private enterprises in Chongqing participating. The survey data covered the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Based on the survey results, the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises list, the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises list, and an analytical report were formed.

Seres Group Co., Ltd., Longfor Group Holdings Limited, and Chongqing Bosai Minerals (Group) Co., Ltd. ranked in the top three of the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises list. Seres Group Co., Ltd., Chongqing Bosai Minerals (Group) Co., Ltd., and Zongshen Industrial Group Co., Ltd. ranked in the top three of the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises list.

Analysis shows that the entry threshold for the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises continued to rise, with significant growth in operating performance. The total assets of the 2025 Top 100 Private Enterprises reached 2.03 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.44%. Total operating revenue was 1.24 trillion yuan, and total net profit was 77.968 billion yuan, increasing by 2.25% and 0.45% respectively compared to the previous year. The entry threshold for the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises was an operating revenue of 1.412 billion yuan, an increase of 233 million yuan from the previous year. Their total operating revenue was 750.504 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.4%, and total net profit was 44.671 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.49%.

Among the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises, manufacturing enterprises numbered 55, an increase of one from the previous year. Their total operating revenue was 665.403 billion yuan, accounting for 53.64% of the total revenue of the top 100 private enterprises, up from 45.9% the previous year. Their total net profit was 37.672 billion yuan, accounting for 48.32% of the total net profit of the top 100, up from 34.57% the previous year. Among the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises, the number of automobile manufacturing enterprises increased from 19 to 27. Their total operating revenue was 268.313 billion yuan, and total net profit was 16.673 billion yuan, accounting for 35.75% and 37.32% of the respective totals for the top 100 manufacturing private enterprises. Furthermore, the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing sector achieved a total operating revenue of 76.882 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.26%, while the general equipment manufacturing sector achieved a total operating revenue of 50.362 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.25%. Private enterprises have become an important force in Chongqing’s efforts to build a “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system and create a hub for intelligent connected new energy vehicles.

In terms of research and development, the total R&D investment for the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises was 22.313 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.19%. The R&D intensity was 1.80%, an increase of 0.33 percentage points year-on-year. Key technologies for 57 enterprises primarily originated from independent development and research, and 62 enterprises engaged in industry-university-research cooperation with universities and research institutions. The total R&D investment for the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Manufacturing Private Enterprises exceeded 20 billion yuan, and they cumulatively obtained 19,423 valid patents domestically and internationally.

Among the 2025 Chongqing Top 100 Private Enterprises, 11 are listed companies domestically. Their total market capitalization at the end of 2024 was 316.518 billion yuan, with Seres Group Co., Ltd. ranking first with a market capitalization of 201.39 billion yuan. Ten enterprises controlled 14 listed companies, and 11 enterprises held shares in 19 listed companies.
