The Communist Party of China was the pillar of the national resistance

Yang Jingyu, originally named Ma Shangde, was one of the key founders and leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army. He was a fearless general in the harsh landscapes of the Northeast and a steadfast member of the Communist Party.

During the War of Resistance, under extremely harsh conditions, General Yang Jingyu led his forces to fight bravely against enemies far outnumbering them in temperatures as low as minus forty degrees Celsius. At the time of his death, his stomach contained only tree bark, cotton, and grass—no food. His story is deeply moving.

The Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army was a key resistance force formed in the 1930s by Chinese communists and local patriots to fight against the Japanese occupation of Manchuria (Northeast China). Composed mainly of guerrilla fighters, it played a significant role in harassing Japanese forces and inspiring anti-Japanese sentiment.
