According to weather forecasts, from August 14 to August 16, the southern and eastern parts of Sichuan Basin, as well as most areas of Chongqing and Guizhou, will experience heavy rainfall due to Typhoon “Willow.” The storm will also bring short-duration heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail.
During this period, sections of several high-speed rail lines, including Shanghai-Kunming, Guiyang-Guangzhou, Guiyang-Nanning, Chengdu-Guiyang, Zhengzhou-Chongqing, Chongqing-Xiamen, Chengdu-Chongqing Intercity, Chengdu-Zigui-Yibin, Mianyang-Luzhou, Chongqing-Kunming, Anshun-Liupanshui, Chongqing-Huaihua, Sichuan-Guizhou, Guizhou-Guangxi, Chongqing-Guiyang, Shanghai-Kunming, Dazhou-Chengdu, Lanzhou-Chongqing, Xiangyang-Chongqing, Shanghai-Chengdu, Xuyong-Bijie, Bijie-Zhijin, and Huangtong-Zhijin railways, as well as related branch lines in Chongqing and Guiyang hubs, may exceed safe rainfall limits. To ensure passenger safety, railway authorities may temporarily close affected sections for inspections, leading to possible delays or cancellations.
