Starting October 11, Sichuan adds three new bullet train pairs.
Starting today, the fourth quarter train schedule will be implemented, adding one pair of high-speed trains each between Chengdu South and Panzhihua South, Chengdu East and Dazhou, and Dazhou and Chongqing North. Capacity will be adjusted according to passenger flow fluctuations to meet travel demands during peak periods.
New trains include C791 from Chengdu South to Panzhihua South and C790 from Panzhihua South to Chengdu South; C717 from Dazhou to Chengdu East and C716 from Chengdu East to Dazhou; C718 from Chongqing West to Dazhou and C719 from Dazhou to Chongqing West. These trains operate during popular morning and afternoon hours, providing greater convenience for regional travel.
During the fourth quarter, strong demand is expected for business travel, tourism, family visits, and student travel in the southwest region. The railway company has scientifically designed the train schedule, reasonably allocated transportation resources, and increased the number of passenger trains to Dazhou, Panzhihua, Yibin, and Tongzi East. Capacity on popular routes continues to be strengthened to flexibly respond to passenger flow changes. Additionally, by utilizing resources from the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed rail and extending/adjusting certain train routes, transportation capacity is being flexibly deployed to enhance passenger convenience. Future plans include scientifically designing passenger services for the upcoming Panxing high-speed rail.
For freight transport, the railway logistics centers in Chengdu, Chongqing, and Guiyang will ensure the transportation of key materials such as thermal coal, grain, and fertilizer. They will continue operating the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing), Central Asia routes, New Western Land-Sea Corridor routes, and Yangtze River routes while maintaining full transportation efficiency.
