On the evening of October 11th, the “Original New Voices” 2025 Chengdu Original Musician Selection Competition concluded successfully at the Sichuan Provincial Gymnasium. After months of intense competition, six finalists emerged from over 2,400 original works submitted globally: Liang Zheng & Shang Neng Fan, Wu Xiaotian, BZ1, BlackC, Wang Jiangyuan, and Zhang Ronghao competed in the final showdown. “Original New Voices” 2025 is jointly organized by Chengdu Radio and Television, the Publicity Department of Wuhou District Committee of Chengdu, Chengdu Music Cultural and Creative Park, and Chengdu Radio and Film Group, with full support from China Telecom. Since its launch, “Original New Voices” 2025 has demonstrated strong appeal. According to the production team, the competition received over 2,400 original music submissions during the preliminary rounds, with participants not only from China but also from countries including Malaysia, Russia, and Singapore.

As Mango TV’s first variety show collaboration with a local television station, “Original New Voices” 2025 has sparked a wave of enthusiasm for original music since its premiere on Mango TV on September 26th. Within three days of its debut, views on Mango TV surpassed 10 million. To date, the three episodes have accumulated nearly 50 million views. The vibrant new voices of Chinese music are emerging from Chengdu and reaching a global audience.

The competition format for this year’s “Original New Voices” is scientifically designed and progressively challenging. The event went through intense rounds of 100 to 21, 21 to 10, and 10 to 6, culminating in the six finalists competing in the grand finale. The final consisted of three performance rounds to determine the champion, runner-up, and third place.

In addition to renowned music producers Shan He and Xu Yuan, and famous singer Xu Fei, who continued their roles as judges throughout the competition, the final also featured legendary Chinese singer Zhao Chuan as a special guest. During the final, Zhao Chuan performed his classic song “How to Say Love.”

Zhao Chuan spoke highly of the “Original New Voices” program, stating, “‘Original New Voices’ is an excellent program. The contestants’ performances are very professional, and the program arrangement shows great care.” He also noted that Chengdu has long been known for its rich musical atmosphere, adding, “Chengdu is fantastic!”
