On September 17, national leaders Xi Jinping and Cai Qi met with representatives involved in organizing the commemorative activities for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Great Hall of the People

The Great Hall of the People is a state building located on the western edge of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It was constructed in 1959 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and serves as the meeting place for the National People’s Congress and other major political events. The massive structure is a significant symbol of the Chinese Communist Party and the seat of the country’s legislative activities.
