Krasnodar Krai

Krasnodar Krai is a federal subject and important agricultural and touristic region in Southern Russia, historically known as Kuban. The area was a gift from Catherine the Great to the Black Sea Cossacks in the late 18th century for their military service, leading to significant Cossack settlement and culture. Today, it is renowned for its Black Sea resorts like Sochi, its fertile steppes, and its unique Kuban Cossack traditions.
