Shenzhen News Network, September 15, 2025 In September, Shenzhen welcomed a “wave of exhibitions.” From September 10 to 15, seven major exhibitions, including the China International Optoelectronic Exposition, Shenzhen International Semiconductor Exhibition, Jewelry Exhibition, and International Smart Eldercare Industry Expo, were held successively, covering a total area of over 400,000 square meters. Tens of thousands of exhibitors gathered in Shenzhen, stimulating industrial vitality and promoting commercial trade.
From September 10 to 12, the 25th China International Optoelectronic Expo was held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an). This exhibition attracted over 3,800 high-quality optoelectronic enterprises from around the world. Eight themed exhibitions focused on key areas such as information and communication, precision optics, camera technology and applications, laser and smart manufacturing, infrared and ultraviolet, smart sensing, new displays, AR and VR, and optoelectronic innovation, building a comprehensive optoelectronic industry ecosystem. To further strengthen the integration of “optoelectronics + applications,” the exhibition specially featured ten themed display areas, including in-vehicle optical communication, endoscopic imaging, laser medical applications, humanoid robots, telescopes, and astronomical equipment. Through scenario-based presentations, the barriers between technology and application were broken down, achieving a synergistic industrial effect where “1+1>2.”
It is particularly worth mentioning that this Optoelectronic Expo and the Shenzhen International Semiconductor Exhibition & 2025 Integrated Circuit Industry Innovation Exhibition were held jointly for the first time at the same time and location. The combined scale of the two exhibitions exceeded 300,000 square meters, attracting over 5,000 high-quality exhibitors and creating a “super display platform” covering two core areas: integrated circuits and optoelectronics. This showcased top global products and cutting-edge technological achievements. The dual exhibition linkage strengthened downstream application scenarios, promoting precise connections between upstream and downstream enterprises and enhancing cross-sector collaboration.
Additionally, from September 12 to 14, the Shenzhen International Smart Eldercare Industry Expo, the 7th Shenzhen Education Equipment Expo, and the 2025 Education-Sports-Healthcare Integration Expo were held simultaneously at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian). From September 11 to 15, the 2025 Shenzhen International Jewelry Exhibition took place, featuring exhibits covering the entire industry chain, including gold, diamonds, colored gemstones, jade, pearls, silver jewelry, packaging, and equipment. Over the five-day exhibition period, total attendance was expected to exceed 40,000, with a significant increase in the proportion of overseas professional buyers compared to previous years.
In the coming weeks, Shenzhen’s “September exhibition season” will also feature highly anticipated events such as the 2025 Design Shenzhen Exhibition, 2025 International Digital Energy Exhibition, and 2025 Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition.
As a catalyst for urban economic development, exhibitions attract significant人流, business flow, capital flow, and information flow, generating a “multiplier effect” in areas such as culture and tourism, consumption, and manufacturing, thereby injecting new vitality into the city. Data shows that in 2024, Shenzhen hosted 441 exhibition events, covering an area of 12.032 million square meters, with over 11.22 million attendees.
In the first half of this year, the city hosted 218 exhibition events, covering an area of 7.55 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 17.3% on a comparable basis. During this period, the city attracted over 38,000 exhibiting enterprises and more than 5.81 million visitors. Among these, the International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition attracted over 4,500 exhibitors and more than 280,000 visitors, while the 2025 ITES Shenzhen Industrial Exhibition gathered over 2,000 exhibitors globally and over 100,000 professional visitors.
It is reported that Shenzhen is expected to host over 400 exhibition events this year. Focusing on the “20+8” strategic emerging industries and future industries, the city aims to achieve “one cluster, one exhibition” coverage, promoting the accelerated gathering of upstream and downstream resources in the industrial chain, building supply-demand对接 platforms, and empowering high-quality development of the industrial economy.
