From September 5th to 7th, an event called “Back Alley Campground” will be held at Grand Mall Park (Minatomirai 3, Nishi Ward, Yokohama City), themed around “camping” where visitors can enjoy barbecues and bonfires.
The event is part of “Augusta Camp 2025,” which takes place from August 29th to September 7th, mainly in the Minatomirai area.
“Augusta Camp” is an annual music festival where artists from the production company gather. This year, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of artist Masayoshi Yamazaki’s debut, it will be held on September 6th at Pia Arena MM (Minatomirai 3, Nishi Ward).
Masayoshi Yamazaki has lived in Yokohama and is also known for the lyrics of “One more time, One more chance,” the theme song of his first lead film “The Moon and Cabbages” released in 1997, which mentions “Sakuragicho.”
At “Back Alley Campground,” a camp stage will be set up in Grand Mall Park, featuring 13 artists over three days performing mainly acoustic sets. Near the stage, there will be workshops for making fabric flowers and food trucks offering pizza, beer, curry, and more.
In the evening, there will be a starlit screening of the 2007 animated film “5 Centimeters Per Second.” The outdoor brand “LOGOS” will create a space designed to resemble a campground, where visitors can experience bonfires, barbecues, and other camping activities.
Other related initiatives for “Augusta Camp 2025” include giant photo spots and “Masayoshi-kun” photo spots set up at MARK IS Minatomirai and other locations, a guided bus tour with announcements by Masayoshi Yamazaki’s voice, and performances by the fire department band at Sakuragicho Station Square.
Opening hours are September 5th: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 6th: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and 7th: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The starlit screening will be held on the 5th at 8:00 PM, and on the 6th and 7th at 7:00 PM. Admission and viewing are free. No reservation required.
