The Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the national air quality report for July 2025.
In July, the average PM2.5 concentration in 339 cities at the prefecture level and above was 14.5 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%; the average PM10 concentration was 28 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 3.4%; the average proportion of days with good air quality was 93.0%, a year-on-year increase of 1.0 percentage points; the average proportion of days with heavy pollution or worse was 0.2%, a year-on-year decrease of 0.1 percentage points.
Among them, the average PM2.5 concentration in cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas was 18.3 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 21.1%; there were no days with heavy pollution or worse, remaining unchanged year-on-year. No exceedance days were caused by dust weather. Beijing’s PM2.5 concentration was 18.3 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 31.2%.
The average PM2.5 concentration in 31 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region was 14.6 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%; there were no days with heavy pollution or worse, remaining unchanged year-on-year. No exceedance days were caused by dust weather.
The average PM2.5 concentration in 13 cities in the Fenwei Plain was 18.5 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 20.6%; the average proportion of days with good air quality was 82.1%, a year-on-year increase of 14.1 percentage points; there were no days with heavy pollution or worse, remaining unchanged year-on-year. No exceedance days were caused by dust weather.
Among the 168 key cities: the top 20 cities with the best air quality were Huangshan, Haikou, Lishui, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Guiyang, Shaoxing, Lhasa, Wenzhou, Kunming, Lu’an, Quzhou, Yichun, Xuancheng, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Jinhua, and Nanchang. The bottom 20 cities with the worst air quality were Yangquan, Jiaozuo, Lüliang, Hebi, Lanzhou, Linfen, Tangshan, Taiyuan, Xining, Tianjin, Puyang, Kaifeng, Liaocheng, Dongguan, Langfang, Luoyang, Xinxiang, Xingtai, Jincheng, and Shijiazhuang.
