The “Sapporo Area Fire Dispatch Center” of the Sapporo City Fire Department, which will handle all 119 emergency calls from eight municipalities in the Ishikari region, will begin operations for Sapporo City on September 2. Following that, the reporting systems of local fire departments will be gradually integrated, with full-scale operations starting on the 19th. By consolidating reports of disasters and other incidents occurring in each municipality, it is expected to speed up the dispatch of fire crews.
