Then, a long four-day weekend will follow — from June 12 to June 15, in celebration of Russia Day. Friday, June 13, will be a day off due to the transfer of a holiday from March 8.
The next short work week in the production calendar in Russia is expected only in November.
Russia Day was established in 1992 by a decree of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation. In 1994, it gained the status of a state holiday and was named the Day of Adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia. In 1998, former Russian President Boris Yeltsin proposed calling the holiday Russia Day. The holiday officially changed its name in 2002.
