To thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and to promote the healthy development of the platform economy, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Cyberspace Administration of China have jointly drafted the “Internet Platform Pricing Behavior Rules (Draft for Solicitation of Comments)” and are now seeking public feedback.

In recent years, China’s platform economy has developed rapidly, playing a positive role in empowering the real economy, developing new productive forces, and meeting the needs of people’s lives. The platform economy involves numerous operators, and their pricing behavior is closely related to the interests of consumers. Issues such as price labeling and big data pricing have attracted widespread attention. To create a market environment of orderly and fair competition and protect the legitimate rights and interests of operators and consumers, existing laws and regulations provide general provisions on operators’ pricing behavior. However, further refinement and implementation of regulatory requirements are needed in the platform economy sector to guide operators in conducting business in accordance with laws and regulations.
