August 19 marks the eighth Chinese Doctors’ Day, with the theme “Virtue in Action, Skill Through Diligence.” That evening, Dongguan’s celebration of “Chinese Doctors’ Day” and the 2025 “Dongguan Good Doctors, Dongguan Good Nurses” awards ceremony was held at the Magnolia Grand Theater. Ten “Dongguan Good Doctors” and ten “Dongguan Good Nurses” were officially announced.
At the ceremony, the ten “Dongguan Good Nurses”—Li Zhenzhen, Lu Xuan, Liang Ziling, Mo Guodong, Chen Xiaoxing, Wu Lanxia, Deng Jie, Xiang Yanfei, Peng Yajuan, and Chen Xiaoyan—and the ten “Dongguan Good Doctors”—Guo Suxia, Dong Mingguo, Zhao Kewen, Li Cuifen, Li Wei, Wang Liujun, Liu Xiaoya, Li Jinting, Wang Xiaoping, and Wang Shanhua—were presented in sequence.
The ceremony featured video clips highlighting the exemplary deeds of the 2025 “Dongguan Good Doctors” and “Dongguan Good Nurses.” Through storytelling, live interviews, award presentations, and cultural performances, the event aimed to inspire healthcare workers to learn from these role models, fostering greater enthusiasm, diligence, and technical excellence to contribute significantly to the high-quality development of the city’s health sector.
2025 is the final year of the “14th Five-Year Plan” and a pivotal year for laying the groundwork for the “15th Five-Year Plan.” Dongguan’s health system has vigorously promoted and practiced core socialist values, making active contributions to safeguarding public health and safety. This effort has brought forth a large number of outstanding healthcare workers renowned for their superb skills, high ethical standards, and excellent professional conduct.
To fully leverage the exemplary role of advanced models and unite efforts to propel the high-quality development of the city’s health sector, the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau, in collaboration with the Municipal Office for Spiritual Civilization Development, meticulously organized the 2025 “Dongguan Good Doctors, Dongguan Good Nurses” selection campaign. Through unit recommendations, qualification reviews, candidate nominations, online voting, panel deliberations, and public announcements, ten individuals, including Guo Suxia, were selected as “Dongguan Good Doctors,” and ten, including Li Zhenzhen, were chosen as “Dongguan Good Nurses.”
Since 2016, Dongguan has held ten consecutive “Dongguan Good Doctors, Dongguan Good Nurses” selection campaigns, recognizing a total of 200 exemplary figures. Over this decade, the inspirational power of these role models has motivated over 80,000 healthcare workers in the city to actively engage in the noble cause of safeguarding public health, fostering a positive, virtue-oriented professional culture. The influence of the selection activity has grown from modest beginnings to become a golden hallmark of cultural soft power development within the entire system and a significant brand in the city’s spiritual civilization development.
