Users of Cipayung-Pitara Road must be patient for longer than expected.

The reconstruction project, originally scheduled for completion in early August 2025, has now been officially extended until early September.

This extension means traffic flow is still being diverted, forcing drivers to seek alternative routes temporarily.

The Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning explained that the road closure was initially planned to end on August 1st.

However, several technical tasks such as road widening and river wall reinforcement still need to be completed.

“Heavy machinery was still maneuvering on site earlier this month. While the heavy machinery is now gone, road widening work continues, so traffic remains diverted,” she stated.

This project began on May 23, 2025, and is targeted for completion by September 4, 2025.

In addition to widening the road section, the work also includes strengthening the river retaining wall foundation, which was previously addressed in the first and second phases during 2023 and 2024.

She acknowledged that this road diversion causes inconvenience for residents. However, she emphasized that all these efforts are being made for public safety and smoother transportation.

“We understand residents are inconvenienced, but this is all for the benefit of the community. Please utilize the available alternative routes,” she said.

If the target is met, by early September, Cipayung-Pitara Road will feature a wider condition, sturdier infrastructure, and improved comfort for drivers.

Although patience is required for another month, the benefits are expected to be long-lasting for all road users.
