Police Raid Houses in Surabaya, Arrest Five Suspects Disguised as Gang Members

A joint team from the police, military, and municipal police in Surabaya, East Java, sealed three residential buildings on Keputran Street.

The houses, taken over by an organization under the guise of a community group, were also rented out to market traders. During this enforcement operation, five individuals involved in thuggery were arrested by the police.

According to the local police chief in Tegalsari, Surabaya, these three homes owned by residents were not only taken over illegally but were also rented out to the traders of Keputran Market. The rental rates were exorbitant, ranging from IDR 2 million to IDR 4 million per month for each stall.
