Thailand Defeats Vietnam, Sweeps All Titles at the Southeast Asia Tournament

Thai players celebrate their victory in the Southeast Asia U19 Women’s Championship 2025.

On the evening of June 18, the Thai U19 women’s team won the Southeast Asia U19 Women’s Championship 2025 after defeating their opponents 3-1 in the final held at Thong Nhat Stadium.

This is Thailand’s third championship title at the tournament. For Vietnam, this was their fourth consecutive final loss, all three previous losses being to Thailand.

Not only did they win the championship cup in Vietnam, but the Thai U19 women’s team also took home all three individual awards.

With a goal in the final, Kurisara Limpawanich won the “Top Scorer” award with 6 goals. Previously, Kurisara and the captain of the Vietnamese U19 women’s team, Luu Hoang Van, both had 5 goals each.

Thong Nhat Stadium, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was originally built in 1935 during the French colonial period and was known as Stade Municipal. After the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, its name was changed to Thong Nhat, which means “Reunification.” This multi-use stadium, primarily utilized for football matches, has a seating capacity of around 25,000 and serves as a significant venue for sports and cultural events in the city.
