The “Yokohama Post-Theater Gathering” is currently being held at the creative complex “Taisei Porch” (2 Aioi-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama).
The event takes place after performances of the family musical “Poupelle of Chimney Town” at the “KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre” (Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku). It provides a space for attendees to interact with cast members and share their thoughts. The gathering was organized by actors from the production, including those involved in the Osaka and Tokyo performances, along with local volunteers.
The musical is based on a picture book of the same name set during Halloween. It tells the story of a chimney sweep boy who believes in the existence of stars, despite living in a town covered in smoke where residents cannot imagine anything beyond it. He meets Poupelle, a trash-born creature, and their journey unfolds.
The “Yokohama Post-Theater Gathering” runs on Wednesdays through Saturdays during the musical’s performance period (August 9–30), starting after each show. Key participants attend all dates, while other cast and staff may join on select days.
On the opening day, the 9th, sponsors and audience members who enjoyed the premiere visited and mingled. One participant smiled, saying, “It was so much fun to talk with fellow viewers and the cast right after the show over drinks.”
One organizer noted, “It’s a rare opportunity for actors and audience members to discuss the performance together. We’re grateful to the musical’s producers for allowing this.” They added, “Hearing unfiltered feedback is incredibly motivating. Even solo attendees can easily join and meet fellow theater lovers.”
Participation fees: General = ¥2,000 (includes 2 drinks), VIP = ¥5,000 (all-you-can-drink, photo opportunity with cast). Attendance is open even without seeing the show that day. Times vary by performance schedule, usually 7:00–9:30 PM or 9:00–11:00 PM.
