In a case where a man’s body was found in an apartment in Iwakura City, Aichi Prefecture, it has been revealed that the man may have been subjected to regular assaults.
Suspect Hayato Kiyama (22), an office worker from Minami Ward, Nagoya City, was referred to prosecutors this morning. He is suspected of causing fatal injuries by assaulting Hiroshi Kato (56), whose residence and occupation are unknown, with a bottle at his home and an apartment in Iwakura City.
Kiyama, the suspect, managed a free or low-cost lodging facility for people in financial distress, where Kato had previously stayed.
According to the forensic autopsy, Kato had subcutaneous bleeding all over his body and fractures in his chest and back. Investigative sources also reported older injuries.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, considering the possibility that Kato may have been subjected to ongoing abuse.
