Surat. Under the newly announced Gujarat Textile Policy-2024, the state government has released fresh guidelines to promote the textile industry. These guidelines were unveiled in Valsad on Thursday, 14th August.

Under these guidelines, textile units established in GIDC-notified areas of urban regions will now be eligible for government incentive schemes. This fulfills a long-standing demand from the industry.

Women’s Empowerment: Groups of at least 25 women will be recognized as ‘Self-Help Groups.’ Each woman will receive benefits of up to ₹5,000 per month under this initiative.

Holistic Unit Benefits: The new policy integrates the entire textile production process—from spinning to fabric—as a single unit, ensuring comprehensive industry-wide advantages.

The policy aims to boost investment in the textile sector, strengthen women’s empowerment, and create new employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas. This industry-focused announcement is expected to further develop Gujarat’s textile industry.
